We appreciate your interest in our products. L'Oréal Professionnel considers formulas for our products proprietary.

Since ingredients may have different functions in products depending upon their combination with other ingredients, the percentage of specific ingredients in any given product is not a measure of the ingredient's efficacy. It is the unique formula and technology that provides the desired result.

As a company committed to the highest quality products, we take special care to ensure that all ingredients we use are safe and continually evaluate the most current information about our ingredients.

Thank you for visiting L'Oréal Professionnel on the Web.

L'Oréal Still did not after two emails answer my questions, When the product was used the ammonia was very strong

FACT!
Ammonia is used to swell the cuticle on the hair shaft to allow for melanin pigment to transfer. Look up ammonia.
Peroxide is used for the oxidation process.
Company's that claim to not have ammonia or peroxide are using a synthetic product that is more harmful to your hair

I am surprised that you didn't mention Organic Salon Systems hair color when you mentioned henna and organic hair color. Organic Color Systems has a fabulous more natural, organic, permanent and ammonia-free line that colorists love.

AFter reading some of these hubs, I continually see that the organic companies use cocamide DEA. this is a derivative or ETHANOLAMINE otherwise known as MEA. ETHANOLAMINE which apparently is more toxic and is used in higher percentage than the ammonia. Cocamide DEA is used in color and ETHANOLAMINE is listed as being in the professional salon color.

Ethanolamine appears to be more toxic than ammonia.

Ethanolamine is not derived from coconuts. cocamide is derived from coconuts. Ethanolamine is NOT derived from coconuts. It is not a by product of coconuts.

Companies that only have 3 or 4 certified ingredients out of 20 , with the remaining ingredients being lab made chemicals, really stretch the definition of the word " organic " and " natural"- as the words are being used in this industry.

Ethanolamine is made from ammonia in the lab.

Phenelenediamine is also listed as one of the ingredients in the hair color.

PPD is a horrible product. This article definitely gives the impression that PPD is to be avoided .

The organic companies put it in their product.

It is in there.

I try to stay away from ETHANOLAMINE, & PPD. There is another company that uses none of those things. I'd try this other one
